Believe In Your Dreams
Dream Coach ® Step #6
This step is my personal favorite. Why? Well, my life’s purpose is to believe. Standing in that purpose, I created an entire methodology to help you believe in your dreams. I’ve spent 30 years developing a doubt removal system that really works. Through that system we looked at in the last step, you identified some obstacles and some limiting beliefs, and now we’re going to focus in. We’re actually going to change one of those limiting beliefs into an empowering belief.
But first let me talk just a little bit about it. You are aware, I imagine, that your attitudes and beliefs are never neutral. They either move you forward or hold you back. But what a lot of us often forget is we can choose what we believe. Choosing a belief is a powerful step, but it’s not enough to just say “I believe” and click your heels together three times. You need to actually take action to demonstrate that you believe in your dreams. Your ability to believe in yourself is so paramount for your ability to be able to dream big dreams because, if we think about the path to the unknown, which is the land of the visionary, we don’t have it all figured out.
The path to the divine is through the unknown. The path to get comfortable with the unknown is to get comfortable with uncertainty. Well, in order to get comfortable with uncertainty, you need to be able to trust yourself. One of the things that will deepen or erode self-trust has everything to do with how you make and keep your agreements, as you learned in Dream Coach ® Step #2.
I want to encourage you to develop the practice to really keep your agreements with yourself and others. Your ability to open your heart, to trust yourself, to be the calm within the chaos, to be able to center and to have discernment regardless of what’s going on, will all help you become more trustworthy and believe in yourself and your dreams. Life changes happen when people, you and I, realize that what’s stopping us, sometimes even dreaming the big dream, is some little belief that we don’t even necessarily believe anymore.
If you read the last Dream Coach ® Step, then you have a list of obstacles. Some of those obstacles are beliefs. Pull one belief off of there that you want to change. It might be the “I’m not good enough,” and your belief will become “I have what it takes.” Maybe your belief is “I don’t know how to do this.” Well, you can design strategies for that, such as get coaching, hire somebody to help you, barter services if you don’t have the budget to hire somebody, or take a class and learn. Those are all strategies. But even though we might create a lot of strategies for the “I don’t know how to do it” obstacle, if we don’t believe in ourselves, those obstacles will still get in the way. To move from an old limiting belief that will hold you back to a new empowering belief that will be the foundation for you to stand on, to make up and create new dreams or to move forward on the dreams that matter to you are critical skills and really worthy of your time.
To start, pick one limiting belief and turn it into a new belief, then practice living it. The way we move from an old belief to a new belief is willingness, courage and practice. Have the willingness to choose the new belief, the courage to act on it and the practice of doing it again and again until you really develop the muscle and capacity so that trusting yourself becomes fundamental to who you are.
The more trustworthy we are to ourselves, the more we also are to other people, which is a critical component to the enrollment process. Remember what I said, that in order to master manifestation, you must master the skill of enrollment, which starts a lot with relationship skills. I talk more about this in Dream Coach ® Step #9. But at the end of the day, when you trust yourself, you show up in a whole new way.
I encourage you to believe in yourself and take this in. I believe in you. I believe in you. You have the right steps. You’ve already come this far in reading all of these Dream Coach ® Step, which I’m so grateful for. This is a critical next step. This is you declaring a powerful belief that starts with an “I am” or an “I do” statement. I believe in you. You have what it takes to make your dreams come true.
