    Hi Marcia,
Thank you for your honesty. This has been a year of loss and changes for me as well. Now it is time to recommit to my dream of living in a place of nature and beauty and writing the story of my 14 years as a channel for Mother Mary. I have so many miracles and stories to share and now it is time to give myself a sweet nest to restore my travel weary body and write this amazing saga.
    Many Blessings,

I look forward to your encouragement and offer the same from me to you.

Glad you’re back! I’m an Isagenix associate and want to know if you use the product? It helps me “heal” a lot. I know that you, Jack and especially John are part of our mentors and I appreciate if you told me whether or not you use the product. Hopefully, this is a private message and you are the only one who sees it. Sorry If my ignorance of the system causes me to broadcast this message to those who maybe should not see it.

Marcia, My dream is to find the right path, be able to finish my book, be able to market my creation (patent pending). I have several creations and after marketing the first then the others will follow. Have all my bills paid, be able to travel, have the confidence to speak. Find the right path to make it so.

Marcia, thanks so much for stepping out of your challenges to empower us again! I appreciate your openness! My dream is to make a family supporting income of $150,000 a year by doing art that I love, art that reminds everyone who sees it of what is really important!

    • Marcia Wieder September 11, 2012 at 10:15 am - Reply

      What kind of art?

      • Pamela Kruse Coste October 31, 2012 at 4:58 pm - Reply

        Wow, thanks for asking!

I’d forgotten about this video and recently found it again…

I interview people about what is important to them, and then create semi-abstract paintings using their words as texture in the paintings… examples can be found on my website http://www.pamelakrusecoste.com

I did quite a few realistic paintings for years but came to feel dissatisfied with the lack of depth… there is SO much more to a person than their physical appearance! I do not find joy in glorifying only what our culture deems beautiful… there are many very technically great artists working today, but very few creating deep, meaningful work. This is my calling, my gift.

I also create this same style of “word painting” using words that I find impactful, knowing that someone else will too. The words are not obvious, but can be seen when you know what you’re looking for!

I’ve worked many different jobs and nearly driven myself crazy with them… I KNOW I am meant to support my family by creating art that inspires! I am so lucky to have a supportive family, even though my focusing on art means my teenage kids do without a lot that their peers assume is easy to come by. My husband is a musician and composer, but works as a teacher. I’m so blessed that he also understands and supports my insistence that someday, somehow this will work… no matter what we’ve gone through!

Thank you so much for reminding me that dreams do come true!

Amen Marcia! I just went through something similar and have gotten my vibe back. I learned that I need to reach out for help faster! Gandhi didn’t free India and a year and sometimes our dreams take a little longer than our self-imposed deadlines – especially after a big setback like your experienced. Thank you for sharing so honestly with us! Vulnerability lets our communities know that we are human.

My dream is to inspire and empower kids to believe in themselves and their dreams and to give them the tools to make that happen! I am about to launch a teleseminar series to support parents in this effort. My other big dream is to get my program into Big Brother Big Sisters. My “mentoring toolkit” would be a perfect fun and impactful way for the mentors to coach the kids they are working with just by sharing fun short stories and discussing the lessons. I loved the strategy you shared with us as to how you got your work into the Girl Scouts and plan to follow that approach.

    Rock it out!

With the help of a new friend in the last 120 days, I have embarked upon a new collaborative dream that was about sharing my network with another visionary for the planet. Daniel Kirkland came into my window thru a number of introductions back in June of this year. The ties and discussions overlapped in areas of interest and focus and we are forming teams and companies on the run. Now we can reflect and decide who are the key players and which are becoming from friends and associates to partners… This is exciting and we plan to change the world with 3 or more teams that join together. Themes include Permaculture, to community empowerment, to ways to bring inventions to the world.

    Hi Marcia,

I have lost 11 people in a period of 22 months. My parents, a favorite uncle, a beloved teacher, a dear student and others in various degrees of intimacy. Grief is part of life and I don’t think it’s intended to derail us, rather to remind us of what we value. Each of the people who passed brought something to my life and their passing has left a space. When you lose people in clusters, shock is a normal response. It is so important for me to take the time I need to honor these losses, integrate the gifts or lessons from each one and then to go foward. No time frame can be put on grief. As someone once said to me “You grieve and you live.” Our society isn’t very fond of looking at grief. We’re naieve in that way. The great dream is for my wholeness. Thanks for sharing your story. You get to be human too!

Taking action on my dream of facilitating improvised music groups. I accepted my first job on Saturday, even though the travel is far and the dollars are less, I am doing it because it’s what I love to do. And I know that will pay itself forward. Interestingly, I had already stated that I wanted to travel while doing what I love to do and I’m going to NYC for a private function, all because a friend recommended me.

I’m also in discussion with several colleagues with different ideas for working together. I made the phone calls that got me there and I’m excited about the unfolding possibilities. I’m following The Call of the Wild Idea. I’m excited, nervous and, sometimes, scared about making ends meet, but I’m still moving forward.

In the last year, I have moved out of a relationship that has not served me well and moved into new friendships that are, exactly as you have said, supportive and loving, with people who are willing to help me move what I do into the world without my even asking. Doors open when you move in the direction of your dreams. While the creative process is often messy and confusing, it’s also awesome and I’m grateful every single day for the people and events creating my life with me. I have committed to an authentic life and to following my intuition. It’s made all the difference.

Marcia, thanks for sharing your journey and serving as an example for us that you can begin anywhere, that there is a process, that one can accomplish a dream, even when it might not look that way at the moment. You just have to hang on to the light.

Thanks for checking in, Marcia. My loss was one of identity and though it hasn’t been a full year, the ashes have started to stir. I just sold my first novel (a long-time dream!) and am beginning to attract teaching opportunities.

And you’re right. When we’re absorbed in our own inner stuff, we don’t talk about it, whether to protect our image or because we want to be able to talk about the solution when we reveal the challenge.

But with so many of us dealing with various kinds of losses, it’s never been more important to talk about it when we’re still in it. But dang, it’s hard to do.

    Dear Marcia…

Thank you for sharing so vulnerably, passionately and powerfully. I so appreciate your great energy and who you are! I hear that you’re saying you left us, but for me, I’ve felt your influence all year long… from the wonderful 10-week teleseminar that began in January to the 1-day gift of a day with you in July at Create Your Future Now.

I am very happy to report that the Dream that I worked on in January is currently in process! Just a few weeks ago I started a 1-year BA Completion program at California Institute for Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco. I will receive my BA next August at age 55… finally!! That will be a major accomplishment and dream come true… something that’s sat on the back burner for way too long!

On Monday, I sent out an email to about 170 massage clients asking them to join my Dream Team, a win-win proposition, whereby clients who commit to 1 hour or more of massage per month for 1 year, will be able to pay a “preferred” rate that’s $15 less than my standard rate. They support me in achieving my dream of having enough income while I’m in school getting my BA, and I support them in taking good care of themselves with a monthly massage at an affordable rate! Prior to sending this email, I had already signed up about 20 clients who had not been getting massage regularly. My goal is to sign up about 20 more!

I have another Dream I worked on at your 1-day event in July. Seeing your video this morning is a helpful reminder to keep moving forward with my dream to teach people tools for self-empowerment. I’ll keep you posted…

So… bless you, Marcia, for helping empower me and thousands upon thousands of others who benefit from your wisdom, insights, authenticity, humor, and the well-structured model you have created to assist people in claiming their dreams and taking action to make them come true!

    Love and hugs,
    Julie Finn

My dream is to have confidence in myself enough to make my dreams a reality. I have played out the “martyr” in my life probably because of religious programming. Went to Catholic school and martyrs are female heroines who are unselfish and put themselves last. Am unemployed currently and I was turned down by an authentic HR recruiter who said I was too smart and gifted to settle and strap myself into boxes that sufficate my crearive energy. I am so stressed and impatient but I really need to find the right career that matches my passion and entrepreneurial talent. Have an MBA that I wasted and never tapped into. My dream is to realize my potential finally! Welcome back and thanks, Marcia dear.

Thanks for your message Marcia, it’s honest and real! And that is exactly what the world needs most right now.

My dream is to change the educational system in the world.

I’m starting to do that now by creating different services and products that help students to find their own path in life and that help people in general to become more of who they really are.

If anybody is interested in this as well, I’m very happy to connect.

    Hi Marcia,
Love you — and welcome back with blessings. Your timing is perfect — grief is something I’ve been through and know how painful it can be.

I’ve been moving slowly and steadily as my dreams unfold. I’m now a Certified NLP Practitioner and Certified Master Life Coach.

Before I was and I still am a Registered Psychologist (Alberta, Canada), Art Therapist (ATR, RCAT) and Dance Movement Therapist (BC-DMT). I have a Graduate Diploma in Distance Education and Technology and have taught psychology and art therapy and dance/movement therapy. However — I’m really charged and happy about coaching online — in three ways — e-one-on-one, doing e-group coaching and teleseminars presentations, including interviews, as my big dream. I’m developing products. I still have my clinical practice face to face but am soon to launch my new online Coaching business and my website. We are all making our dreams happen and more will join you and your Million Dreams Campaign I’m sure.

Like you, I believe in the importance of energy and happiness. I also believe in myself more than ever. Thanks for your support to all of us.

15% of the proceeds go to the Itafari Foundation, which I began 7 years ago AFTER becoming a dream coach. If 1 Million copies of this book sold, that would be a donation of $2.2 MILLION dollars to the foundation. I can SEE it.

My WOW is to complete my opt in page and get a chapter out free to everyone that signs up for my website.

I’ll be back to report. And thanks for helping others make their dreams come true. May yours be one of them.

I like what you said about trusting yourself. The more experienced I become, the more I realize this is the key to self-filfillment. To trust oneself means to be patient with oneself because the soul must grow into realization. Things will be fuzzy before they are clear. But there are always clues, and they require faith and attention. I think one must learn to be comfortable with not knowing.

For me, trusting myself has required the bravery to walk the plank blindfolded, even when others caution and try to hold me back. Trusting myself has required vigilant awareness and responsiveness to my very particular and subtle needs and desires. It is an alone path.

My main dream right now is to simply love as much as I can. To love others unconditionally and to appreciate.

My other dream has to do with making films and theatre as a director. I am working on small projects at the moment. I cannot yet see/define specifics of a BIG dream, but I think I know how it feels: My creativity will be in full motion. I will be communicating and collaborating with others to create meaningful work together. Right now, it feels good to be in the present, accept where I am, and achieve small goals.

Nice to hear from you, Marcia.

Hi Marcia, this past year and a half have been very difficult for me as well. The death of my beloved Mother, my divorce and subsequent division of my family, job instability and then the diagnosis of Leukemia for my former wife (whom I still care deeply about) have made things very challenging indeed. I have tried to remain positive throughout all of this. My saving grace has been the love of my Sons and my photography, which has been very therapeutic for me. As a result of my ex-wife getting cancer, I decided to start a website in which I would sell prints of my images and donate partial proceeds to Leukemia research and also to our local food bank. While I have been able to make several donations to each charity, I am very frustrated with the lack progress. This project seems to be going nowhere. My dream is to make a comfortable living doing what I love and to also pay it forward and have a positive impact on the world around me. I am losing hope that my dreams will come to be. I don’t know a lot of people to network with and to get the word out of my project. I don’t like to come across as a victim or whiner here, I am just feeling lost and beginning to doubt all of this “Thoughts become things” and “Law of attraction” stuff. Help?

Important lessons for each of us and somehow comforting to realize that the giants are also mere mortals among us.

Ever onward! And now for a W.O.W. I have recommitted to my own creativity and artistic capability and have just created an image worthy of *BIGGER* sharing. Now committed to figuring out the hows of the wow.

    Thanks Marcia!

Your are so right, it definitely takes a lot longer to heal from a loss than we initially anticipate and there is a reason they say not to make any life altering decisions in the first year of grieving…..we are not fully present to make wise decisions, we are engulfed in our emotions and we don’t make good decisions when we are in highly charged emotional states.

I know this because I too have been grieving. Our daugher was murdered and like you I pressed on to force a business dream 6 months following the greatest loss a parent can suffer.

I thought it would be best for me to carry on with productive plans and not remain in the mire of darkness, but grief has it’s own timetable. I lost a lot of money on top of the loss of a child which compounded the grief I was then dealing with.

I am now back too, though there are days that can still be tough. I have a totally new program due out next month (Epoche’ Living Lifestyle Elevation program) to give others the clarity, power, and success they deserve and lets them design a life that aligns and elevates them from soul code to zip code code.

I thank you for sharing with such honesty. Stay connected in times of trouble for we are designed as relational beings……it’s the connection that eases our suffering and offers others a chance to come along side you.

Connections and Dreams….what a great combination!
    Congrats on your TV show!
    Much appreciation,

    Hello Marcia,

It was so wonderful to spend time with you while you were in Austin. I totally resonate with all that you said and felt. I too disconnected from my tribe during my time of transition and am slowly re-emerging and creating new dreams as well as picking up where I left off on past ones.

My intention during Create Your Future Now was to uncover what was missing. Something was absent and I wasn’t fulfilled or passionate. What I discovered was that there was a part of me that hadn’t grieved over part of a loss. That began a healing that is allowing me to process and revive in that area.

Next steps are to take time in November during Masters of Manifestation to nurture myself and my soul.

I am so glad that we have reconnected. I love you dearly. You will always have a huge piece of my heart and my gratitude.

Welcome back, Marcia. And thank you for keeping it real!

My big dream is to have massive positive impact toward helping people to step into their highest potential.

I’m not exactly sure what that looks like yet… books, speaking to large groups, coaching programs, and the like for sure… but on what exactly — well that’s where I keep getting tripped up.

My action step for the next week or so is to set aside an afternoon to brainstorm, mind map and just “try on” (mentally) some different options that I could pursue.

Welcome back Marcia. Been on my own derailment for 11 months now over a career change that I chose. I truly believe the decision came from my higher self. I left financial security of a government career to pursue my life long passion for painting. My dream last November was to have a gallery showing by Fall of this year and to create & sell enough paintings to support me and my three younger children still at home. Well as life does one thing after another has arisen and my dream seems so distant. I haven’t given up though. I will tap into my muse to make my dream a realty. Have to because we exhausted my savings last month. Thanks for your inspiration.

So, your comments about your own recent experience have validated my recent experiences. We all need time to heal…too bad I had to defend my reactions to some of my family though…needing to justify why I’m feeling the way I’m feeling was something I could have done without.

Since I cried with friends last night over a very challenging situation in our world that even I, the solution orientated person can’t see a resolution, I opened this email.
I have had what I have called a “Soap Opera” year so far.
Go along thinking something is fine, then my world is turned upside down with little or no warning.
Lost a 1 day a week job when a business sold and had been told for 5 weeks I would have my job, until 3 days before the closing got a call saying don’t come in again.
Relationship became challenging, then he became a suicide, then a dark secret that “shook me to my core” became known and dealing with other people who were part of the deception and telling me to just accept the mess he left behind involving a young person as a “good thing” in her life.
My Mom passed away, not totally unexpected, but suddenly went from seeming to have months, to getting on a plane the day she died & not seeing her.
Evacuated for a fire for one day – really puts many things in perspective having only 1.5 hours to pack all you can think you need to take with you & fits in a small car. We were lucky, the fire went elsewhere, but other friends weren’t so lucky and lost their homes just a few miles away. We were on pre-evac alert for 8 days, then had flood alert for 3 weeks afterwards. Very nerve-wracking time.
Had a horrible roommate, an unexpected tenant change when they were about to resign a lease, gained a new roommate after the fire evacuation – lovely person, but also trying to heal from the mess left by the suicidal person.
Bee sting (allergic in that I swell horribly from stings) behind knee of leg with poor circulation, making it hard to walk and aggravating the circulation problem in my leg. Still trying to regain the level of health I had before that.
Too many trips this summer to Oregon and all this stress while trying to stay focused on the Art Festival I get paid all year to coordinate that culminated in a beautiful & 80% waste-free event on Labor Day Weekend.
I had started a new IM program, then one WOW from Lou D’Allo just before I traveled to OR the first time, then came back to the fire evacuation.
Gave up everything else I had been working on just to stay as centered as possible and fulfill this one major obligation in my life.
Just after I published my book, life became crazy. Haven’t had time or energy or focus to promote it.
    And had two others begun.
Going back to OR once more, then coming back to take back my life.
Have two new clients that are patiently waiting for me to work with them.
One is in the alternative health industry with a big dream.
One is my new nephew-in-law with an incredible invention.
Neither are exactly where I thought I was headed, but am open to working with them both while getting back to working on sharing what I know with others relating to healing naturally.
WOW: Focus on helping others, but not giving myself away any more.

HI Marcia! Honestly, I didn’t miss you that much (i say this with loving humor)…because I have found that when we are passionately and wholeheartedly involved in our own personal dreams, goals, visions and creations as you obviously are and have been (congratulations!), we tend to get busy about God’s business and for me that isllike this enthralling consuming fire that drives, drives, drives one into Love, Peace, Joy, Health and Wealth. Can you relate? I can keep going on that one.. but I forgive you and I always enjoy your authenticity and Lightness. you are quite refreshing to get an email from, thank you! Hi Marcia!

Welcome back! 🙂 I completely understand what it’s like to be derailed but yet I’m THANKFUL for the derailments in life because when we are still enough to listen, we eventually get back onto the right track! I recently decided to let go of a familiar career of 11 yrs to pursue my dream of writing & speaking. It was a very big decision for me but I’m so glad I made it because i don’t want to live a life of regret and curiosity, wondering what I could’ve achieved if I “would’ve” pursued it. Letting go of what was familiar to me for the last 11 years was my way of taking action & give myself FULL permission to GO FOR IT! The second action step I took just a few days ago was that I signed up for a writing course that will lead me through each step of the writing process. I’m filled with hope and excitement again for what the future holds for me in this path!

    Hi Marcia,

Good for you! I am so glad that you moved to a beautiful and warmer place that makes you happy! It sounds absolutely wonderful to wake up every day in “Paradise”!

I’m sorry about your time of loss and sorrow, but glad that you are back on track, so to speak. You are right that it takes time, and probably a different amount for everyone.

I lost my husband of nearly 17 years and the father of my four children 2 years and 4 months ago. Last September I then lost my father. The shell shock and the mist is really beginning to clear lately and I now have a dream for my family.

Since my husband was the sole provider while I home schooled our children, my dream is to take some business courses at home and learn to be self sustaining.

I also have asthma that seems much worse in Colorado than it was when we lived in the south. The cold weather does us no favors, health wise, so I plan to move my family to beautiful, sunny St. Augustine, Florida. The children love this idea and their excitement is contagious!

My last dream is to regain a healthy level of fitness. After my husband’s death I put on an unhealthy amount of weight. I am attempting to lose 40 pounds or so.

It is so nice to begin to feel excitement, hope and happiness again! I feel like I am slowly coming back to life again. I also feel like God brought your wonderful dream book to me at just exactly the right time. (I’m still reading it.)

Best wishes to you and thank you for sharing your wisdom with us!

Hi my dearest Marcia! Thanks for your commitment to your purpose, your dream, and your people. Thank you for being a friend and a guide. And for a real big breakthrough session. I had a dream of training you and I have (what a little journey huh?!) It has been an absolute pleasure to be part of your life and grateful for you being part of mine. I love you! Your coach, Coach Yari.

P.S. I am very clear as to the people I want to help. My desire is aimed with laser-like focus at awakening the world and empowering the people that come to me for guidance with access to the tools and knowledge necessary, not just so that they can be sexier (which they will be) but ultimately to become self-reliant, self-sufficient and self-confident. I’m not interested in a mere voyage of vanity. I’m looking for those that prefer, instead, to pursue the path of awakening.

Don’t get me wrong…there’s nothing wrong with strictly concentrating specifically on looks and appearances. It’s just that in most cases, those individuals will probably opt for a different trainer — and that’s totally awesome too! And I am so happy with knowing my integrity and where I stand as a leader, as trainer, as a motivator.

Glad you’re back. After 13 years on the Internet, I hit a wall. I no longer had passion for my business. So I took time off and yes, like you, I did not let my clients know. I went totally quiet. I looked deep within myself and asked some really hard questions. Came up with the answer. And spent 6 months learning something new. What this did was get my passion back for my business. The something new was related. I finally wrote and illustrated my Children’s Book for the iPad. It’s animated with just coding and CSS. A real challenge. Now I will teach other Authors how to do the same. And next week, I’ll be apologizing to my list. Thanks for your video.

    Dear Marcia,
You are such an excellent example of authenticity in action. Thank you for leading the way and showing us all that it’s okay to be human, to “derail” and make mistakes on the path to success.

After my own huge derailing and almost three years of rebuilding, I, too, feel the momentum building toward my dream of being an exceptionally successful professional writer.

Since before I could read, I knew I would write, but I couldn’t decide what I wanted to focus on. In Jr. High, I became fascinated with advertising. My college entrance essay to USC was written as an advertisement and I worked in the marketing department of the University theatre department during grad school.

For almost 20 years, I’ve digested copywriting and marketing books, articles, newsletters and home study courses. I read philosophy and neuroscience books and articles to better understand what motivates people.

I became a Dream Coach and certified conversational hypnotherapist to maximize my ability to connect with people in efficient and effective ways.

Over the years, I dabbled in copywriting and marketing with my own small business and even had some fairly big clients, but despite constant excellent feedback, my self-doubt always kept me marking time in a 9-5 job and putting my dream off for tomorrow.

No more! This is the year I’m going to break out and make my business the force for good I know it can be. I will no longer “dabble” in my passion while the bulk of my days are spent in service to something else. I will unleash my talent and find ways to make the world a better place – one word at a time.

Thank you for all you do Marcia, you are a true inspiration.

    Hello Marcia,

Welcome back, I am so glad to see you dreaming, sharing and caring once again! It does take time to transition after a major loss and I am glad you shared this truth and encouraged people to connect with themselves and others during this process.

I retired from my career in Human Resources a year and half ago. For the last year, I have been focused on helping Moms of Young Adults with Special Needs to make transitions, so that they could serve as great role models.

I am now shifting my focus, realizing that Moms of Young Adults with Special Needs are under a great deal of stress, face significant challenges daily and will be offering a stress Rx prescription for Special Needs Families. Moms will be most likely to participate if they see value in it for themselves and their families and let’s face it Moms do not have a monopoly on caregiving or stress. It impacts the entire family.

So my WOW is to finish the ebook introduction to the Stress Rx program where I highlight why this program is so necessary, draft copy for the sales page, and reach out to at least 15 caregiving groups to share my hopes and dreams of reducing stress in these families.

    With much appreciation.

My dream is to create “Godly Garments” that celebrate the God self
within us, what we are passionate about, love, etc. Vestments for all. I have always been involved with clothes and fabric art. During the work book tasks I learned that my highest priority is to guide people toward a new consciousness. I had these dreams reversed. By combining these 2 endeavors I believe I am doing my soul’s work. I envision having a work force, selling ready- made designs and doing commissioned pieces, a web site and doing classes. And being a
philanthropist. My Wow for the next week is to learn to print my art onto

Infinite gratitude for your loving light and passion.

    May Peace Prevail On Earth

My dream is to make my Supplement distribution business a raving success from a financial point and a sense of satisfaction for helping masses of people to improve their lot in life. To do this I must master the art of follow-up without hesitation.

    Hi Marcia,

Good to hear from you, thank you for your words of encouragement and for sharing what you have been going through. I too have been going through quite a lot in the past few years and lost sight of myself and my dreams. But like you, I’m glad to be alive and to be given a second chance to live a life that really matters. A life that I want to live and not what others expect me to do and/or live.

    Hi Marcia,
As like you, I had some major changes in my life. 1 & 1/2 years ago, I was force out of a job/partnership by 2 men that I thought were my friends. I spent 14 years at this company and poured my heart & soul into it. Now I had no income, many bills, and could not even collect unemployment because I was considered a business owner (partner). I then had this dream of owning a Wellness Studio. A place that would teach and help people lead a healthy life, caring for the Body, mind and soul. It was a difficult year. People came and went and I was running out of funds to opperate…still no income. I too, did not give myself time to heal from the loss I had experienced. I not only lost my livelyhood, but 2 friends tried to destroy me and stole from me. 2 people I trusted. But after 1 year my new business began to turn around. I have great people who work at my studio and the bills are being paid. Still have no income and this is where I struggle. I have been life-coaching for the past ten years to many people in my everyday life. My part in the studio was to teach/lead empowerment workshops, such as Self Esteem, Law of Attraction, The Power of Joy, etc. I couldn’t think about teaching others how to be happy and feel powerful when I was scared and angry. I am ready now but still struggle with moving with it. I have not found a place to advertise what I am doing that attracts many people. I could use some help on this matter.
    Thanks for listening!

    Dear Marcia,
I am glad to see you back. I always get good stuff form your website and emails. I am sorry to hear that you had a hard year, but am glad that you are feeling back on top. Just a thought to share, I have worked for 34 years with people through grief. Our society does not leave us enough time to grieve. Be gently with yourself. Moving through our grieving process, if we do good work and don’t try to stuff it, can take 5 years.
You have not let me down; be good and patient with yourself.

    Peace for the journey,

Hi Marcia, thank you for your beautiful video – and also for having such a wonderful group of people you’ve attracted here! I read everybody’s comments and was very moved by how much energy and commitment is being expressed by this extraordinary Communit.

Like you and a number of others who have posted here, last year was extraordinarily challenging for me, too: I almost died, quite literally.

What kept me alive was my powerful commitment to live – to live so that I can complete my work here on Earth. I will share more on this elsewhere but here want to let you and everyone know that today, Sept. 11, I’m in the process of loading my new novel – RETURN TO THE GARDEN – on Kindle. I had SOOOO hoped for a 9-11 launch…so I guess this is it, here with this Community of Committed Dreamers, as I’m a newbie with Kindle and seem not to have loaded the graphics properly. Hey, there’s a reason for everything, right?

Fulfilling the vision expressed in my book – rapid, enjoyable global transformation – is my dream. I’ve spent 43 years working on this as my full time “job” and feel so honored finally to be sharing what I’ve learned, through telling some really great (TRUE) stories that lay out a realistic program for how we can realize this global transformation.

And, Marcia, if you’d like to JV with me in selling my book (and also other things that use some of the 1001 butterflies I’m drawing, one each day), I would LOVE to explore that with you. You have my email address.

Goals for this week include 1. getting our two websites completed – they’re getting close enough to share here among friends: http://www.gardenofparadise.net and http://www.butterflyblessings.net – AND having RETURN TO THE GARDEN up there on Amazon, delighting and inspiring millions of readers with a vision of what, together, we can accomplish, with joy and celebration……

I love all of you; thank you for what you’re each doing. Thank you, Marcia, for calling such a great party!

    Big Group Hug, Norie

    Hi Marcia!

Thank you so much for sharing your process with us. That was a courageous thing to do, and I know that as you read these responses you will feel reconnected and energized. The 7 steps are right on. I’m in a big transition as well (who isn’t?) and I appreciate you sharing your enthusiasm and guidance with us all.

My big dream is to return to Maui where I lived happily for many years. I moved back to California at the end of 2004 as my father was seriously ill and asked me to be closer to him and my mother. I followed my heart to take care of my parents and be with them for their final years. I’m so glad I did. That was a no-brainer, and I really treasure the time I spent with them. I have been here now for over 7 years! My father died in Jan 2010 and my mother died last January 2012. It has been a big loss, as they were truly wonderful people. It has also been a big adjustment being away from my friends on Maui- my “Maui tribe” and having a very demanding job here in the Bay Area as a Child and Family Therapist.

My Dream (which I am currently in the process of manifesting!) is to return to Maui and lead workshops and retreats on Creativity and Living your Dream.

I missed your workshop in SF which I had planned on attending. Are you doing anything else I can attend live? I would love to have your support. You have mine!

Thanks again for keeping it real and being who you are. I know that our challenges and transitions are a part of life, and it is good to remember we are all doing the best we can. Thanks for your words and encouragement.

All the best to you. Hope to meet with you in person and continue with this great and wonderful work.

    Blessings and big hugs,

    Hi Marcia,
thanks for your message and thanks for being back and so honest and I so much understand it. But you know most part of the healing and growing is to recognize it and forgive oneself and go back to loving oneself unconditonally and to listen more what our soul has to tell us.Out of this will come something really big for you and you will be able to put it in all your teaching in the future because you have been there.

I know I have a big calling in me and I have the feeling I am ready for receiving and getting started. At the same time I have the feeling that I still do a lot to sabotage myself because I think I do not deserve it and all the other paradigms which I got from my father. I don’t say this as an excuse more as an explanation as I did a lot of healing, coaching, reading, listening over the last years and often I thought I got it but then I feel that deep inside must be still my fight against myself otherwise I would be going where I want to go. I surrounded myself with great mentors and teachers and coaches and healers over the year and I have some seminars in mind I want to take to get my future started as a coach, healer, mentor but what is stopping me mostly right now is money. I put myself in a position that I do not even have enough to get by and soon I will lose my last income. At the same time I am not looking for new work as I just do not want to go back in an office and loose another months or years till I can work in passion and I do not want to go back to Germany (I am a living in Spain where the economy is the worst in whole Europe and there are no jobs here anyway and if I would get one it would be again not enough even to survive) to find a job and work 9-5 again getting paid to get by but never for years be in a position to take training to become a coach. So here I am sitting, not whining but looking at my situation and no glue what to do. I was always a doer, a go for it, a no did not exist, looking for job great paid once when I had enough from my last one and moving on, but looking back I was never happy, just the money and I was good what I did. Then 12 years ago I turned my back to all of this moved from Africa to Spain, finding out what I want or at least getting a glue about it and now I stop myself doing so to throwing the obstacle money issue between my legs.

I refuse to do anything any longer which I do not have fun and joy with and serve and do with passion to fulfill my purpose but on the other hand my mind and Ego is telling me, are you nuts, you can not afford this you will end up on the street, wake up

Honestly I am so much anti Logic right now that I often say then it is not worth living, just to go back in the job to pay bills and work for anohter 15 years or so to get to retirement where the money will be like nothing

Instead of starting NOW what I love and working till I die because it is not work it is fun and I serve and care and help and make great money on top.

I know I have a big diamond inside me but right now I don’t know if I am a fool which will wake up in a couple of months with no home etc. or if I am on the right truck with trusting and having faith and surrender and something big will happen.

Everyone always talks about action and this makes me guilty because I have no glue what kind of action I could do right now towards my passion. All I know the other action which I could do would lead me to my old life which I do not want anymore not even for a period of time
it must be possible to start from a position where I am right now.

So I often ask myself is my not going in wild activism just to have an excuse that I do something and staying bold for my dream and passion also action, even so it does not look like action right now?

I still have not found 100 % what it will be, I see myself also as someone who works for the animals and with the animals and combines this with humans. I would love to become a animal whisperer and get trained from them to tell me what the world needs and bring it to us the humans and heal the world and make it a better place again.

Sorry very long, you get probably lots of feedback, but I just wanted to bring it to paper and to articulate it and seeing if you have an idea, as I follow you for a while now.

A couple of months I had the idea to get on the life call with Wayne Dyer on Hay House and suggest him to become his student for one year and live with him and learn from him but then I lost sight and bravery to do so and my Ego kicked in.

I also often think, is there no way at all to get taught for free and pay it back later like as a royality to the trainer.

    thanks a lot
looking forward for your new post

Thanks for your post. On July 18 2011 I lost the love of my life and wife of 40 years. I was introduced to you through the Shift network and the Season of Sustainability. I believed what you were saying and the steps necessary to realize my BIG DREAM. Well, I didn’t make it to your San Fran presentation, I lost my home to the evil twin of my daughter and generally have been a basket case. HOWEVER, I also believe in the Happiness Initiative within sustainability as being implimented by the Happiness Initiative of Seattle (happycounts.org). I just came back from training by them and (today) just got a gig teaching a workshop on sustainability and the happiness initiative that I am calling “Putting a Human Face on Sustainability”
Last night I moved my wedding ring to my right hand. I still greive deeply but I think I have turned some kind of corner – my goal is to stop being glum and begin being sociable and productive.
What is my dream at age 75? Nothing less than saving the world! I dream a world of the eighth fire where indigenous and nonindigenous people work together with similar value sets to begin healing Mother Earth. I wrote a pamphlet on living in balance with these values 3 years ago. I have been meaning to revise it sometime. One of my WOW’s is to beging the revisions this week in preparation for giving Living in Balance seminars where ever I can. My other WOW is to begin a BLOG called “Doing Sustainability – Indigenous wisdom, communities and the new sustainability”.
Glad your back I need your encouragement.

Also, next week I am launching a “free” art studio for our local community where all children and adults can communicate their feelings, tell their stories and see themselves as unique and special individuals!

Marcia – what a great video and message. Reinforces my belief that our own experiences will serve another in growth too. Thank you, you were not the only one derailed…we should have a come back or derailed party celebration.

Your 7 points are right on…I did not have a clue til I was in it for quite some time, I was grieving. Its been over 6 months in my healing crisis and still recovery, discovering and uncovering the gems and nuggets, ah has and nourishing my once weary and former energizer bunny soul. I now know I have had a new hard drive reloaded and its NOT push til I drop, endure, soldier on, etc. Its pause, listen and then listen some more, THEN from that place draw upon the inspiration, not my expiration…(lol) backwards to my old M.O.

So welcome back to all of us, we were being prepared and read ied for this next part of our journey…I know I am ready for lift off and to fly on the wings of my still percolating incubation of my hearts desire…to be the change, to inspire others (myself first!!) to a new humanity. To seeing and loving each other collectively, to innovatively moving forward in this new paradigm together..

How that may look on the manifest level: co authoring a book with a beautiful soul whose voice and story needs to heard.

Opening up a collaborative wholeness & wellness center, with unknown others, by attending to a wholistic integration of the Mind, Body & Spirit, thru many ways, ie: nutrition, body energetics, physically, mentally, emotionally, Finding a place and making a sacred space for small to medium circle gathering, sharing, birthing , cultivating, incubating each others deepenings, desires and dreams. Creating community that supports each other to thrive, not just survive. Its time…we are on the precipice of big changes that the world has yet seen in our generation… its exciting..

What I know thru my own gestation period or dark night of the soul, as I was being rewired and prepared..we can’t do it alone, well we can try BUT, my experience that is the long suffering way…no need for the old outdated way. Now its about The Tribe…(I have yet to make up good acronym for it) but the Team version still applies: Together Everyone Achieves Mastery!!! There it is I have spoken it aloud/allowed…my fears aside…perhaps there are like minded people who have similar dreams and we can collaborate, rather than compete, and we all benefit from each others dreams an d wisdom.

Thank You Marcia, you sharing re inspired me today, to say it, claim and watch and listen in curiosity for next step and manifestation.

    Thanks again..Many blessings
    Make it a great day!

Gosh, that stirred my soul. Well, my dear, I too AM BACK! I’ve been building my tribe and guiding fabulous women to live their unique sparkle everyday. No one can live it for us. If we deny it, we deny it for the world.

Welcome home beautiful. I’m glad you’ve found your way!

    Hi Marcia!
It was so uplifting to hear from you. You’re so refreshing and kind to share your personal challenges with us.

I’ve been facing challenges while following my dream – a “good news” online radio show. I love to inspire and uplift audiences by sharing success stories from nonprofit leaders and inspirational speakers (like yourself), authors and practitioners who are making a positive difference in the world. “Make A Positive Difference” is on BlogTalkRadio.com every Wed., 5-5:30 pm (CST), and I’ve been getting results for my guests. BUT – I don’t have the show monetized.

It has been taking lots of time, and I don’t know how I can keep it going without sponsorship or advertising support. Next week, I’ll be getting promotional support from a successful online radio show — SpirituallyRawTV. (They get about 4 million hits per month!) But now, my cash flow is low…

Our media needs more positive news. My heart goes out to the nonprofits who need help during these critically tough times.
I’d love to hear your ideas. If you’re able to respond back, that would be wonderful. Would you consider being on the show? I’d also love to know if there are others in your community who might like to be involved in this program – from producing and promoting it to helping get sales from advertisers.

Keep up the good work in all your endeavors. Your TV show sounds awesome. Peace, love and blessings to you…

    Hello Marcia
Like you and many others I have had changes in my life over the last year and a bit. Have bought and sold 2 houses and needed to say goodbye to my last dog, Honey, a tibetan spaniel. I feel in that transistion stage of not quite knowing and accepting what is in store for my future. I have been listening to many inspiring people via teleseminars but am confused between having a focus on a dream or completely letting go of the oars and going with the flow. My dream is to help others via the use of hands on healing or giving inspiration and hope via my own close connection spirit guides and helpers. I feel that I am now living in a home of peace and tranquility that both suits me and my husband and that I was lead here. I feel scared to make a commitment to myself and to where and what I need to achieve not knowing what that is or what it could be. My dream is that I want to travel to many places around the world, visiting many countries both for pleasure and for spiritual work. What that spiritual work actually is I’m not sure. I will ‘let go and let god’ and try not to be controlling and worried about how and when I may achieve this. I hope that sending this message to you will focus an intention to at least not give up on this dream.
Healing rainbows to you and everyone else for the specialness of having dreams.

Marcia, this was so powerful! I appreciate you sharing with us – I feel it makes you a stronger leader that we can all learn even more from when you share your ups and especially your downs.
I have evolved my big dream from my one-on-one coaching practice into an online support community for women that I am developing and growing right now. I just took action this morning to hire someone to help me move it forward so there is my Wow and my action step!
But I had a realization regarding the advice that John Gray gave you which I think is priceless…I am my mother’s full-time caregiver so sometimes it’s a little difficult balancing my time and energy between caring for her and growing a business. Part of me feels that I won’t be able to really grow it into the big vision I have until after she’s gone (morbid, I know but I feel I have to be prepared) but I also want (for my own personal creative expression) and need (for my financial stability) to create a business that I can grow while I care for her. I’m now realizing that I will have a grieving period after she’s gone. (just to clarify, she’s doing pretty well right now but definitely slowing down) That scares me and makes me concerned about growing my business and what I will be going through when the time comes, knowing I will need a bit of a recovery period.
Having gone through a big loss and the aftermath yourself, do you have an advice for me for my situation?
I’m so glad you’re back – I hope to run into you in Beverly Hills sometime!
Thank you Marcia for supporting all of us and congratulations on the realization of your Big Dreams!
    Much love, Tanna

    Hi Marcia,

Thanks so much for your honesty. I attended your workshop in SF ( yes with the airplanes) this summer and loved it.

My dream/project is elusive. It comes and goes…right now I’m not sure I’ve got it right. My friend, Erin and I are starting a travel/tour fcompamy in Egypt. She’s an archeologist who’s lived there for several years -speaks Arabic, etc. She’s got her part of it together.. Today, there are anti American riots in Egypt. It scare me and makes me think I”m nuts to be working on this business.

What I know is that I want to travel, explore cultures and beauty and I can’t do it on my current income. I need this business to support my desired lifestyle.

Of course, I could go on…but I’m sure you’ve got a zillion responses to read!

Thanks for reading and your response. I look forward to it!

    Hi Marcia,
I am somewhat a new friend.
I felt very fortunate to be able to attend the “Create Your Future Now” workshop in Austin on August 25. My friend, Kelly, and I drove in from Little Rock, AR. On our return trip we spent the night of the 25th in Temple. At 4:30 am that morning I received call from my sister in Indiana. I almost could not identify her voice, she sounded so wounded. Her husband had just passed away unexpectedly at home. That is not enough, she has been on short term disability since January and her long term is playing a paper game with her since July 2. anyhow, a few hours later, i received a call from one of my granddaughters that her mom was admitted to the hospital with severe stomach pains. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis. One of the processes I worked on was being able to say no more to my daughter – talking to her for long periods of time while she was drinking… felt like i was enabling her. now i fear i will not hear from her. she is very fragile in so many ways. During the workshop I took much, while sensing much disconnectedness and did not experience the level of joy I would normally feel at that type of event. I have several dreams. I guess the most important things to me are being able to live daily from my highest potential? I know that is vague. I believe that I came here to heal and be healed, maybe even teach something? Scarcity seems to run rampant in my life. in july my husband and i took road trip with 3 grandkids (his side – my idea) spent over $4000. Less than a month later nothing for emergency visit. Comes time for me to do anything for my family or myself, it gets rough. I was able to visit my sister and spend 4 extra days with her, but I was not able to give her $$$$ which she so desperately needs. I simply wish I could have paid off her house for her,,,, let alone my own. I know the story is strong, but I have been home for over a week now and can’t seem to find my bearings. my daughter didn’t want me to visit her while she was in the hospital. she said she was being taken good care of….I just want to stay in centered within myself, know what I know and trust my knowingness, and enjoy being everyday of my life. Deep inside I sense that my life is necessary and my gifts would serve many – if only i could focus on one. Yet I feel like my time at home, doing what I do and praying as I pray is actually uplifting.
Thank you so much for not stopping and thank you for sharing your awarenesses! Much Appreciation

This is Jan again. The video started and I was able to watch all of it. You just gave me permission to take time to heal. It’s taking a long time after losing 34 yr. marriage, home and job.
My dream is to use my talents and loves to create a livelihood that is sustainable. It’s been almost 2 years so I have started to lose hope. Thanks for being in touch.

Thanks Marcia you’ve expressed what is happening to me (all except the stars!!) I seem to be in a healing process/transition the loss of old dreams, relationships, where to move, basically what to do with my life. I seem to get enthusiastic about something and believe it is a passion and then it fizzles out, not sure what that is about. I seem to be going through the motions maybe just not time for whatever it is and so dreams at this moment appear not to be possible.

    Hi Marcia,

Good to hear from you. I am working on my company, Alternate Energy Buildings, Inc. and am working on providing modular housing to the American Indian reservations where housing is badly needed. My goal is to take these homes off the grid using renewable energy systems. The company I will be selling for is being newly formed. Got any ideas how I can take this to a higher level? I need funding to get it going. Maggie

    Hi Marcia,
Thank you for your video and honesty – I can see the shift in you from one year ago. I too am in a grieving process as my father (who was over 100) passed away in April. It’s subtle but I can feel my body telling me to take it slow so I am. But I am still moving forward in my dream which is starting a new business, Krysalis Leadership, bringing collaborative leadership and wisdom to the business world. My website launches this week! But I still know I have to take it slowly as I move into this new venture, and it’ll unfold beautifully. I’m not in a rush as the world in need of this work will still be there.

Thanks for sharing, and allowing us to share.

my marcia – brava. love that you found your mojo again – it’s been an “off course” time for me, too … actually in a grief place now – for my house of 28 years – and the HUGE transition to a smaller place that is “lovely” but i’m not fully THERE yet – feeling adrift with feet in two different worlds. soon it shall shift and all of it is absolutely outside my control. THAT’S the big learning for me! still, i’ve moved, i’ve downsized and my practice is building up again – a new dreamer just signed up to explore his purpose and passion as he’s taken early retirement and facing the “now what?” … so, godspeed to you – i LOVE these crazy-making times for all of us as we just grow and grow and grow. come to chicago and leap out of a plane with me, sister!

    Hi Marcia,

Nice of you to get in touch with yourself and your fans again.
I enjoyed your video and the clarity of your message.
I am happy for you to get back on track.
I do know all about grief as I lost my dear dotter to her dad twice once when she was only 8 months, I got her back after a week as I was still breast feeding. The other time she was 9 years old and I still haven’t met her since. My other child her brother has been griefing for her so long he become mentally sick and I am here struggling in life to just dreaming of holding her, telling her how much I miss her and love her. A big part of my life is gone forever and I can never go back to the time she was 9. We simply haven´t been able to be daughter and mother growing in that bonding sens. I miss being her Mum I miss being whole with my both children it is an emotional mutilation. My dream is very simple I want to heal but will I be able to do that alone without her, without meeting her, holding her…will my son her brother ever recover and heal again too.
This is my biggest dream just to be whole again to be able to see my children being happy and whole. Thank your for giving the opportunity to share my feelings and big dream. God Bless you Marcia

But you’re right. Loss and the grief that comes with it takes up a lot of energy… Energy that untill a few weeks ago I could put into realising my dream.
What a coincidence that your message should reach me right now….

2012 has been an incredibly dark year, full of potential, death and birthing. I’ve hit some lows that I had not seen since middle school /high school. Thank you for your message. I’ve also hit some high points, I had two photography showings at different venues, the 2nd one, they came to me! I continue with my photography classes and will “put my stake in the ground” for traveling to Mexico in December.

Leep going everyone! There is magic everywhere 🙂

    Hi Marcia,
I am glad that you are following your dreams and sharing your highs and also your lows on the journey. I am glad that you have done the majority of your healing work and that joy is beginning to return to your life. I think that we can learn from each other’s experiences 🙂
A couple of years ago I found that my left leg wouldn’t work. It ended up being bone cancer and the cancer has eaten away a lot of the bone below the knee. During treatment I also lost one kidney and the remaining kidney is only at 24% functionality.
I am on a disability which is only enough to cover my rent. I had just taken the step into my dream of being a photographer/artist when this all happened. It is interesting as you have talked about healing that I have found that it has taken a year of being alternately angry and grieving and overwhelmed to finally come to a point where I am fairly calm and joyful again. My days are unpredictable. Some days I feel like I could take on the world, and other days I can’t get out of bed or need to go to the hospital because the poisons in my blood aren’t being filtered right by my remaining kidney. As I emerge from the anger and grief I find that I only have one friend who has stuck by me through this. I am sure it is amazing that anyone has, actually.
At this point I want my dream more than ever. I have added to my original dream because of the things I have learned about being disabled and being poor, I would like to organize some way to make sure all people have access to nutritious food instead of mac and cheese every day. There is so much surplus here and the poor are not going to buy it anyway. The other part I have added is to find a piece of property and put a little cottage on it that I would own outright with solar power so that I could never be threatened with no place to live again. I believe my dreams are possible but I have no idea how to carry them though. I know the location where my heart is calling me, but I don’t really know why. I feel right when I am there, but it isn’t an ideal place to start a photography business. I have been looking for inexpensive land, hoping that some kind of miracle will happen, but so far, nothing. Part of me thinks that I really need to just move there and then the right things will start to happen. However, moving would require money….and I go around in circles.
For now, I am taking as many free photography classes online as I can handle and learning about small cabin construction and solar energy so that when the pieces of the puzzle fit together I will be as prepared as possible.
Thanks for listening 🙂 Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated….Alice

    Hi Marcia,
Wow. Thanks for being so genuine. You are such a bold lady. May God richly bless your business. I live in Ontario, Canada. I am a mortgage broker and an ordained minister (weird combination eh?). I have a dream to write a book on weddings. I’ve officiated at over a thousand weddings and boy do I have some great stories. I’ve started the book several times but I can’t seem to get it finished. I am a single father with 3 teenagers that keep me busy. I earn a good living so I don’t need the money, I just need to get this done. It’s something that I must do to live a complete life. I suppose it’s part of my legacy. Any suggestions? Dan

    HI Marcia,

Welcome back Marcia. It was a year ago that you told us that you were completly changing your life direction and moving to LA and renting your beautiful home. You are showing us how easy it is to get derailed from our dreams. Like most people who posted, I also have had my challenges. I went through a financial restructuring, my basement flooded and my 98 year old mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and it doesn’t even run in our family.. The good news is that my mother
went through a breast removal with flying colors and she is healing well. Through all this I have had to face some uncomfortable issues and situations and did get derailed for a while to take care of things.
I am now back on track with my Coaching and Marketing Business.
I am committed to getting my new business systems in place. I will be offering a 4 part Marketing Telesminar for coaches, healers and energy workers in Nov. 2012. It is good for me to be back also.
    Much love, Diane

Hi, Marcia, glad to hear things are back on track. I also liked hearing that you are near where I live. (San Fernando Valley. Folks on your side of the hill call it the VALL eee.) Looking forward to you having some programs near by. I don’t like sharing my dream with most people because they think I am royally crazy. Not that I care about being crazy, but their nay saying brings me down. I want to develop an eco spa in a Latin American country. (I already have the property). I plan to work with developmentally disabled persons in job training for the tourist industry. The eco spa will be self sufficient, growing all organic foods and items to create natural spa products. Thank you for listening.

Geez, this is going to derail you once again if you really are committed to leaving a personal reply to all of us.

Thanks for sharing that even YOU can lose sight sometimes. My biggest issue is I juggle more than one dream which probably gives me the opportunity to procrastinate. My initial dream is to publish my memoir about my experience with breast cancer. I have accomplished much of it but need to move ahead again. At the same time I have a plan for a new blog that will include video downloads weekly. I also have a plan for a new book that I will first do as video interviews and post them as well to my website. From that the real dream is to have someone like Ellen D. pick it up as a weekly spot on her show.

So sometimes I get in my own way with too much to do. I plan to help myself by committing certain time periods to work on them without creating a stressful “oh no, I didn’t do it” emotion.

Thanks for letting me share and thank you for your sharing also.

Marcia, it’s so good to have you back! There’s nothing like a back-on-track feeling to whiz you through your day. I truly hope you are feeling that.

Reading some of these responses really put it in perspective for me. Sure, I have had challenges. This has been the worst year of my life, save none. But I still have my health, I still have my limbs, I still have the ability to work … and even though it seems the dream I went for with such gusto a decade ago has turned to dust … I still have the ability to dream. And the result for me? The dream itself has remained the same — it just won’t leave me alone — but the road to it has changed.

I want to spend the rest of my life living in Spain, my spiritual home. I am American by birth and European at heart. I also want to spend a substantial part of that time on Spain’s pilgrimage routes.

This dream requires freedom, and freedom costs money. After falling on hard ground following my original odyssey, ending up earning survival wages on a factory floor near my birthplace which I thought I’d left years ago … I’m moving forward with a new way to make it all happen. And this time there’s no room for error.

Dream on, friends! Let’s make this a real community. As John Lennon said (and I paraphrase): It’s hard to dream alone, far easier to dream together.

Wow, you posted this right on time! So much of what you said resonated with me, thank you for your honesty and continued effort to reach out. I am recently separated and just now over coming my grief after a year. I have a burgeoning sense of clarity that I haven’t experienced in quite some time. So my big dream is this, I want to go for my PhD. I am tired of it being a thought floating around in my head, tired of encouraging others to go forward but constantly finding excuses for myself. The one thing I find myself struggling with is money. I am just now out of student loan debt, and I feel hesitant to take on the financial debt of a graduate school degree (again). It is as though my previous debt has scarred me and I worked really hard to be debt free.

I know there are easy solutions for this that I may just not be seeing. I know there are scholarships, grants, etc., but honestly, I still feel scared. I am scared of debt.

Looking forward to your reply, and your future messages.

Hello Marcia, glad to hear from you again! I am posting here only to get my “stuff” out in the open to see what happens next. You see, at this time I have very little money (coming in or in my bank) and my credit is shot! My landlord just advised me he is getting a divorce and I will have to move soon as possible (I have about 1500 square feet of automotive shop equipment and parts to move). On top of that, I am single, 46 year old man, living in an RV (with a cracked septic tank!) and today before this posting I had a tire blowout on my car! I NOW know what hardship feels like!!!

I am still determined to find the solutions to get my website producing results and want to become a life/business coach soon (even small group coaching of 25-50 people would be acceptable) so as to attract more positive influential and affluential individuals into my existence.

Thank you for your email with video to remind me to keep the dream(s) alive!

Thanks for this Marcia! I remember you sharing this story at your SF Create Your Future Now event,

I totally relate to your journey and even for an extrovert like me, sometimes I inadvertently disconnect from community – which is not conducive to feeding and expanding passion and creative energy! We all need Connection, which is why I say it is one of the 5 essential elements to Harnessing Hope and Awakening Your Dream!!

So glad your found you place in the sun, literally and figuratively!!

I am on the cusp of launching my next dream: a coaching program (primarily group and workshop with some individual sessions) helping professionals and execs who feel burned out, stuck on the treadmill, or who’ve reached a plateau and wonder “is this all there is?” to discover what they’re really here to do and design a personalized plan for manifesting it. I am offering free strategy sessions – if you know of anyone who fits this profile that you will not work with, please refer him or her my way!

    Blessings to you. . .

OMG Marcia! Welcome back & I’m sorry for your loss of self, a partner, and some time it sounds like. I’ve been going thru the same things actually and have been unable to positively focus on others as I had so much personal stuff to deal with as well! It almost feels selfish but it’s imperative to take that time for ourselves and life sometimes throws us that curve ball!

First of all, I’m excited to see you this Thursday in Irvine with the OC ICF chapter!! Yippeee! Secondly, I feel like you just took the words right out of my mouth! In the past year, I’ve moved from my home town 2500 miles away to a place where I knew no one, left a 23 year marriage behind that was done 15 years ago, my kids have shut me out of their lives I assume because they’re confused and mad about me leaving? but not sure since they won’t tell me, and, in the past 3 years, have had my entire support system yanked out from under me including friends I grew up with and my own parents…all because I wanted to be happy and this did not fit in with their plans! Incredible huh? But I’ve lived my entire life for other people: what they want, need, expect. I had been raised not to trust myself–even my own instincts & intuition but everytime I listened to others & not myself, it turned out very poorly…so I learned to mistrust my own judgement–for years! I became an Interior Designer with my own firm because that pleased my parents and married the man of THEIR dreams only to live a very isolated life next to someone else. WHEN does it become MY time and when do I stop feeling guilty for wanting to just be happy being me? NOW.

In fact, 2 years ago I finished a life and corporate coaching program which is what I’m pursuing now in California as well as TRYING to finish a book I’ve begun. When you and I spoke in 2011, I had told you that Jack Canfield was a huge mentor to me at the age of 12 when I attended my first business seminar & got goosebumps knowing that THAT was what I wanted to do when I grew up! Only problem: there wasn’t a “school” on that back then…so, I put it in the back of my mind but always read & listened to positive, motivational info…hoping that someday…I’d coach, train, and inspire like that!

I’ve been so hard on myself this year and also gave myself “3 months” to overcome all my crap (being the overachiever I am) but it didn’t happen in that time frame for me either…still working on it but getting clearer now after 8 months of separation from everything and everyone I know. Thank you for your resonating words of inner conflict and the resolution to get better!

My dream is to coach, inspire, and lead people into their dreams and serve as an accountability partner to help them see those dreams come to fruition…all while traveling the world!

    See you soon!

    Hi Marcia,

You’re as always an inspiration and such a great speaker!!
I was that blonde German lady & great dancer 🙂 that took part in your DreamCoach University program out in Sausalito a few years back…I actually met Patrick and I am sorry to hear that it did not work out…there is always a reason and I am sure that you are on your way to greater things!!
I got married 2 years ago, for the first time at age 53…and believe me, it was worth the wait! I was a contributing author of a book, entitled ‘Freeing Godiva’ and also finished my first copy of a book of poetry on life and human issues, entitled ‘The Angel’s Advocate’. I have referenced you and the DreamCoach University in the back of my book as some of the poems were inspired by what I had learned from you!!
In fact, I would love to send you a copy!!
Please, let me know where I can send it to.

At your “create your future seminar” in San Francisco in July, I made the commitment to schedule one teleconference guest for a free series on the “Mystery and Magic of Life and Death.” This one step, which did accomplish within the week, catapulted me into getting my email system up on Mailchimp, a free offer for people to sign up to my newsletter and an auto responder system. Wow. Since then I’ve been doing an e-newsletter every two weeks and hired the Magical Marketer, Julia Stege, to redo my website so it truly expresses who I am. It is mind-blowing what this one little step initiated.

This week I’m working on a grant proposal to create an in-depth workshop series on facing death with open eyes for cancer families. My mission: teach people about the mystery and magic of life and death. corollary: discover the opportunity in crisis and loss.

    Hello Marcia,

Glad to see you again and thanks for sharing. I appreciate your honesty in sharing your vulnerability. Your return is timely for me.I was wanting to go back to your book, M.Y.D.C.T. ( some principles of which I share in the university classroom, to student interest.)

Probably like many, I feel I the need to transition. I am feeling desire and a nudging need to transition to a new career. Unpacking that is a bit overwhelming…

I manifested a huge dream of a European trip, the focus of which was
Iceland for a magic & metaphysics workshop with Lazaris. Marvellously
inspiring. Some unexpected well-tended demons surfaced to be transformed and their energy reclaimed.

My wow has been a deep organization of my home to support the exercise regimen and editing intensive to follow. The next wow is the
exercise and editing. I did the office organization listening to that dear man, Jack Canfield. Also inspiring. ( And a little encouragement – didn’t he say you were the best? Big smile.)

I look forward to reconnecting more with you.

    Blessings on you.

Thank you for making big dreams OK .
    1. I tried to get into graduate school to do a PhD. ( 20 years after my masters) Done. Got in.
2.I took a multivariate statistics — got it completed with an A. Got results today. Done
Learned that my brain still works.

    Next step……..doing grant proposals to:

    1. Develop Cbt tools for Alzheimer’s Disease caregivers.( hard copy and web apps)
    2. Develop collaborative tools for inter organization collaboration to facilitate the empowerment and self sufficiency of food bank recipients through the development of a network of community gardens. ( did one this year — now we need to do 10)

    3. Test tailored Cbt in diabetic patients who want to maintain healthy BMI’s– through physician offices with appropriate nurse and care support( maybe some web apps as well – since there is evidence to say they have potential to leverage the support of physicians and nurses)

    4. Test most effective communication strategies ( new media vs. traditional) in women’s health issues re cardiovascular wellness. What is most effective?

Thank you for making dreaming ok.

Marcia I am going through a similar situation as you. I am grieving the lost of a 16 year relationship and it has derailed me. It has been 14 months and I still don’t even know who I am at this point and time or what I want to do next with my life. I have been very successful in the past at most everything I put my mind to, but now I haven’t got a clue what I want to do and I seem to have lost my passion and drive. I took your online Dreamer course through the Shift network, but haven’t done anything with it because I just can’t figure out what I want to do next. How do I get me back and also find where I want my life to go next if I don’t know what I want to do?

    • Marcia Wieder September 11, 2012 at 9:10 pm - Reply

That course is available to you anytime. Start wit a small dream. Something easy… your Dreamer needs healing. Perhaps journal with it and simply ask what it needs. Hear its responses. Day by day my friend. We all need to begin where we are. Keep me posted, if you like.

Hi Marcia. Thank you so much for being you.

I’ve only just recently found this site, but I’ve only just recently been ready. I have registered my dream, to make $100,000 yearly income as an artist, and I’ve just recently (as of this last week) committed myself to a really big project that I hope will help me get there.

This BIG dream still scares me a little. It feels like a planet sized elephant that I’m planing to devour with a plastic coated baby spoon. -That’s how you’re suppose to eat an elephant, right? One bite at a time? I love your tactic of taking on these monstrously big dreams one bite at a time, project by project. But at this point, that $100,000 income still feels outlandish. Is that okay?

I think I’ve been an artist all my life, but with a scientist mother and a business owner father, art was never suggested or supported as a valid way to make a living. I was always told to have a back up degree in something useful. I always got such a mixed reaction. In grade school, my teachers and peers loved my work and gave me lots of encouragement. But at home my work received minimal responses. “Oh yes dear, that’s nice,” only offers as much support as it takes to give, which was not enough for me. So I stopped showing them my poetry, paintings, drawings or sculptures. But I never stopped making them.

6 years ago I decided to stop studying towards a physics degree and looked into architecture, but life had other plans. 5 years ago I ran away from everything comfortable and joined up with the closest thing I could find to gypsy culture in this country, the Renaissance Fair. It took me 4 years, 2 cars, 3 tents, a pop up trailer, a dog, and hundreds of cold nights to realize that if my new family of artisans could make a living in this kind of environment, then so could I. But I couldn’t do it the way they had. I needed indoor plumbing, and by god I deserved it. So I ran away back to the real world and started classes towards a photography degree.

Somewhere in the middle of all the chaos that is living on the road, my dad sent me your book, Dreams are whispers from the soul. It is such a small book with such simple ideas, but it was exactly what I had been missing. I lost a lot of my material possessions while traveling state to state, but your book always stayed safe, tucked in a little box of precious things. When I decided to leave the road and start a new path of life, I pulled it out and really started to read it. I’ve read it at least 3 times in the past 6 months and I finally decided I was ready to check out the website listed in the back.

The one area where I would love more information is in the projects area. I find it hard to brake my ideas down small enough to seem doable. I have no idea what kind of WOW I could ever set for myself because all my ideas seem to take forever. Or that could just be my perception because I’m completely impatient. Now that I’ve decided which direction I want to take my life, it’s sooooooo hard for me to take it one step at a time. I just want to run and run and run towards it. I have to consciously remind myself that life is all about the journey and that if I’m constantly running I won’t have time to enjoy breathing.

I told a friend of mine recently that I was worried my photography career would flop and that my work just didn’t seem to be getting noticed. She asked me how long I’d been working towards this goal and I told her about six months. Her eyes got huge and she said, “Six months are you kidding me? Oh, well, so sorry Vogue hasn’t called yet! Don’t worry so much, it takes time, but I’m sure it will happen.” I laughed, which helped. She is definitely part of my Dream Team 😀 For reminding me of silly things like that, but also because she loves the way I work, she’s a great make up artist, she models for me and because she wants to see me succeed. Someday I want to be able to work with her on paying shoots because she doesn’t deserve to live in poverty with her skills. I consider myself on her Dream Team as well, whether she knows it or not.

I’ve learned a lot from your existence and your work Marcia. I see that you are the changes you wish to see in the world, and living by example is a wonderfully courageous thing to do and witness. I haven’t explored this site enough yet, but I know it has a lot to offer. I’m glad you are a part of my Dream Team, whether I ever interact with you face to face or not. Your words and visions have laced themselves into my strength and I know I will always be better for it. Thank you so much for being the radiant face of God that you are.

Sunday I was touched by reading your story. It is very similar to my own. I wish you success on your journey 🙂 Art/photography is so very important and undervalued in our society. Take it away though, and day to day life is much more harsh for each person. Always know what you do and what you contribute is worthwhile, not only for this generation but also for the generations to come.

Thanks again Alice and good luck to all your endeavors 🙂

Hello Marcia!! It took me 1 1/2 years!! Thank you for reconnecting, we are glad yu´re back !! Forgive my english, I´m an spanish speaker. I belive we all have dreams, that in many cases are under a lot of life experiences that have hurted us and we don´t remember what happen, because we didn´t give ourselves the oportunity to learn for that experience. I really belive that we must heal first to touch the deepest part of our soul and find our dreams. If we follow them, life is going to be healthy and will give us exactly what we need to achieve our dreams!! A big hug for your healing!!! Margarita.

Blessings, Marcia, Glad you have reconnected with us and especially yourself.

I am a Christian Minister. I have been working with the homeless and marginalized in downtown San Jose, CA, for almost 16 yrs. I am living my dream. However, there are dreams withing the dream. I want to end homelessness. I would love to help more people in the area of “critical thinking”, and the use of imagination in spirituality. My fellow Christians often fear anything they cannot find in the Holy Bible. Usually it is just because they cannot find it, not because it is not there.
When the Bible says to “Love The Lord your God with all of your heart, mind, and strength,” it uses a word in the Greek, that has been translated as mind, that means imagination. I also play the guitar, sing and song write. I have a flare for folk, country, R&B and Gospel. I have written two songs in Spanish, that I sing fluently, but I cannot speak it fluently. I am a mother, grandmother, friend and daughter. I have survived breast cancer twice, the first time I was miraculously healed. The doctors said “Oops, we must have made a mistake”. I said that was fine and 20 years down the road, I got kicked in the chest while performing an exorcism. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in the same breast, and went through the two strongest chemo therapies they had at the time and radiation. Just saw my Radiology Oncologist today for hopefully the last time. I have been cancer free for five years; looking good. He is scheduling an MRI because Mammograms are out of the question; too painful.
I have survived racism, molestation, three burning cars, three cars that lost brakes, an appendectomy, after implosion, and three months of poison seepage; two ectopiic pregnancies within the space of 5 months of each other. My son was a miracle, so they said. The scar tissue from the appendicitis, ten years prior, was the cause of the tubal pregnancies a year and a month after my son was born. I could go on, but you asked about our dreams. I would love to kick back with Shirley MacLaine, The Dahli Lama, Cornel West, Maya Angelou, Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, Dr. Oz, and Neal Donald Walsch, just to share ideas and hopefully come up with a cure for willful ignorance. Alright perhaps that is an unrealistic expectation, however, I would like to enjoy their company for a few hours.
